DENA – 38 cm Hybrid Frame Drum with Chains and Interchangeable Jingles

DENA is a powerful and expressive hybrid frame drum inspired by Persian-Kurdish daf and Southern Italian Pizzica tamburello traditions.
Handcrafted from solid oak, its thicker 9 cm shell ensures excellent projection, depth, and stability, even at a large 38 cm size.

Fitted with internal chains and 9 interchangeable pairs of jingles, this drum offers a rich spectrum of textures — from sustained harmonics and layered resonance to crisp percussive accents. Jingles and chains can be used separately or together, and the jingles can be swapped to customize the sound to your style.

The synthetic head — available in textured white or transparent Mylar — ensures responsive, climate-resistant performance. The hex-nut tuning system (key included) allows you to dial in deep, soft tones or bright, articulate attacks.

You can play it in different modalities: as a Pizzica tamburello (with the jingles and with or without chains), Modern Tamburello (setting the jingles as you wish), Hybrid framedrum, as a Daf (by using just the chains) and alsolike a Framedrum or Tammorra Muta. Dena Is extremely versatile.
